About this site

Course Seeker helps you make informed decisions about your future study. It provides clear, meaningful and transparent information about ATARs, pre-requisites and enrolment practices and policies of higher education providers across Australia.

Course Seeker shows provider information, course information, entry requirements and admission processes. It also highlights student satisfaction and graduate outcome survey results, both at the study area level and for the provider as a whole.

Course Seeker’s aim is to improve transparency across the higher education sector. It achieves this by providing information sourced from higher education providers across Australia, presenting it in a nationally consistent and comparable format.

With easy to compare information, Course Seeker empowers you to make the right decisions for your future.

Background

Course Seeker is a joint initiative by the Tertiary Admissions Centres and the Australian Government.

The Department worked with the Tertiary Admission Centres (TACs) to develop a national higher education admissions information platform. The platform was a recommendation by the Higher Education Standards Panel (the panel) in their Improving the Transparency of Higher Education Admissions report released in October 2016. The panel recommended that a new website be established to provide a single point of entry for information about higher education admissions policies and processes across higher education providers. Course Seeker was developed to meet these recommendations.

The Panel’s recommendations were intended to achieve greater transparency through the use of common language about admissions processes and to ensure all stakeholders have access to nationally consistent, comparable and easier to understand information on admission requirements, application and assessment pathways for all undergraduate courses offered by Australian higher education providers.

Providers

The Australian higher education sector is made up of universities and other higher education providers. The national Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) regulates all Australian higher education providers. All providers are subject to the same quality and accountability requirements.

There are currently over 140 providers listed on Course Seeker.
