About this website

Course Seeker helps you make informed decisions about your future study by allowing you to access clear, meaningful and transparent information on ATARs/OPs, prerequisites and enrolment policies. Information has been sourced from across Australia and presented in a nationally consistent and comparable format to improve the transparency across the higher education sector.

This interactive, searchable website displays course information, entry requirements, admission processes and student satisfaction and graduate survey results at the study area and institutional level. Course Seeker provides improved access to the full range of higher education study and support options to all students, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, from regional areas and from families with limited historical exposure to the higher education system.

Course Seeker is an Australian Government initiative that has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training (the Department).

The Department worked with the Tertiary Admissions Centres (TACs) to develop a national higher education admissions information platform. The platform was a recommendation by the Higher Education Standards Panel (the Panel) in their Improving the Transparency of Higher Education Admissions report released in October 2016. The Panel recommended that a new website be established to provide a single point of entry for information about higher education admissions policies and processes across higher education providers. Course Seeker has been developed to meet this recommendation. The Panel’s recommendations were intended to achieve greater transparency through the use of common language about admissions processes. Course Seeker ensures prospective students, parents and careers advisers have access to nationally consistent, comparable and easier to understand information on admission requirements, and application and assessment pathways for all undergraduate courses offered by Australian higher education institutions.

The higher education sector in Australia is comprised of universities and other higher education providers. Australian institutions are regulated by the national Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and are all subject to the same quality and accountability requirements.

There are currently over 70 institutions listed on this website with many more to be added soon.
